  • happy (fried) turkey day

every thanksgiving, nubu's tradition is to fry a turkey.  the most he's fried is six.  this year will be three.  i'm proud to say that i've fried one on my own before and came out pretty and pretty tasty.

no, this one isn't mine.  nubu did this one.

i met fried turkey through nubu and i had to dump oven roasted turkey after the first bite.  it's been fried turkey the past three years.  happy (fried) turkey day!

  • is your eggo preggo?

i've been updating my gchat status with overweight or can't eat because i feel like hurling every time i do.  friends have been asking if there's a bun in the oven due to the status updates.  my favorite has been, is your eggo preggo?  sadly, my eggo is not preggo.  my second favorite, is it twins?  happily, it's not twins.

  • nutter butter

i was thinking i may continue to use nutter butter instead of the hubs when referring to him on this blog.  the hubs is kind of boring, eh?  i don't actually call him nutter butter in person...well sometimes just for fun.

nutter butter actually came about when a group of us played a game of scattegories.  another one of our game nights.  our team included myself, the hubs nutter butter, and a friend of ours.  one of the rounds included a term of endearment beginning with the letter 'n'.  if you guys have played the game, you know there's a time limit.  we couldn't think of anything so under time pressure, we just wrote down nutter butter.  when it came to giving our answers, i lied for the sake of a point and said i call the hubs nutter butter all the time.  they let it fly.  since then, nutter butter comes up now and then.

on second thought, nutter butter takes forever to type out.  maybe nubu.  yea, nubu it is.

  • not the romantic type

    13557_170035928518_555633518_2862426_8075268_n

from the hubs.  he sent me flowers at work and i was totally surprised.  he's not the romantic type, but from time to time, he'll throw in a little steve urkel.  as you can see, there's one single rose.  i mentioned to him last week that i've never received roses from him.  he wrote on the card, 'happy anniversary.  i got you a rose.'  funny guy.  wonder what else he has planned for our anniversary weekend.

  • winos & cheeseheads

i've become quite the wine drinker these past few months.  the hubs is a fan of red wine whereas i prefer the white stuff.  i hosted a wine & cheese party over the weekend and shared a bottle of gewurztraminer-um, can't pronounce it, but it's delicious.  i think i could drink the entire bottle on my own.  can we say fish?  it's ok. i have self-control.  anyhow, the party went over well.  we even squeezed in a game of charades.  this is what happens when you get married.  instead of going out to the clubs, you host grown-up parties and play dorky games like charades with your dorky friends.  *cheers*

  • philosophy

i purchased the philosophy microdelivery peel awhile ago and finally used it today.

it's a two step process.  pretty straightforward and easy to use.  the name makes it sound like a harsh product, but it's pretty gentle and smells delicious-like sweet oranges.  results:  fresh face and totally soft skin.  love it.  i'm going to have to check out their other products.  lived up to the rave reviews.

  • no flip fold necessary

the hubs is kind of anal about how his clothes are folded.  i'm not allowed to fold his clothes because, well, i suck at folding clothes.  actually, i'm only allowed to fold his boxers and socks.  after i do a load of laundry, i just pile all his shirts in one stack.  he goes through them and folds them perfectly.  no flip fold necessary.  it's pretty impressive.

nope, don't need it.  got the hubs.

  • silent nagging

according to the hubs, i tend to nag.  i call it repetitive reminders.  the thing is, if i didn't so-call nag, he'd never get stuff done.  i see the wives reading the aforementioned nodding and agreeing with me.  so instead of constantly telling him what to do, i decided to use a whiteboard to write down all the things he needs to get done.  his to do list. he now calls it 24/7 nagging because if he doesn't get it done, he sees it up there all day and all night.  well, at least it's silent nagging.
